A lot of people requested this: a form to create your own “Standards” sheet. So I built it, and now WeHaveStandards.com has two sheets you can make, at no charge (for now)!
The idea is to print this out on Sunday afternoon, in anticipation of your upcoming week. And you “design” the behavior of your week. So, you can start with simple stuff, like “Up and dressed by 8am”. And if you do it, you get a check, otherwise, give yourself an X.
It’s really simple, but if you stick with it, you can drastically affect your behavior. It’s a slow process … but it has to be slow, and if you’re patient, you can bring about real change. If you want to ‘make a difference’ in the world, this is where you start.

Alvin Lucier - I am Sitting in a Room
I am sitting in a room (1969) is one of composer Alvin Lucier’s best known works, featuring Lucier recording himself narrating a text, and then playing the recording back into the room. […] and this process is repeated. Since all rooms have characteristic resonance frequencies, the effect is that certain frequencies are emphasized as they resonate in the room, until eventually the words become unintelligible, replaced by the pure resonant harmonies and tones of the room itself.
All energy is only borrowed, and one day you have to give it back
